Audience Feedback

Our Media supply teacher kindly offered to give me feedback on my music video.

She seemed to be very pleased with the outcome of my music video but she made some very valid points which could have made my video that little bit better. She commented on how there was no clear defining move that occured when then was an impersonation of Michael Jacksons "oww!" I agree with this statement and if i was to redo the video then that would be something that i would of inserted. She really liked the use of the staged shots and close ups. She felt the video was funny and entertaining which was something i wanted to achieve when creating the video. I think in conclusion she liked the video but believes it could of had more potential if i had money to spend on actors/actresses and high quality equipment.

One of the members of our media technical support staff, was kind enough to give me feedback on my video.

I felt it would be good to get the opinion of a "media-minded" individual because he would know how easy/difficult some shots are more than most, as well as the editing, lighting and mise en scene etc. He felt that I had...

Digipak Advert

I designed my digipak poster using photostudio. I decided to use a black and white theme for my poster for a few reasons. One of the reasons is that the song is about michael jackson and one of his hit songs was called "black or white". The other reason was because of all the controversy that surounded him, about the colour of his skin.

This was a still taken from my video which i decided to use for my digipak. I print screened the shot and edited in photostudio. I used the magic wand tool to delete any unwanted colour and background and to delete any facial features.

Digipak

I have edited my previous digipak design due to copyright infringement. However i feel that the final version is a vast improvement on previous drafts. The Picture on the front and the back of the digipak were hand drawn by me.

Back

After i scanned the images in I created a night sky background using Photostudio. To create the majority of stars i drew a small white/yellow/blue circle and used the "smudge tool" to give it the illusion off the stars giving off light. I set the night sky as the background image and brought the hand-drawn image into the foreground. I used the "magic wand" on the hand drawn image to get rid of the body of the drawing so it was just left with the outline, I then made the outline white, to let the image stand out more.

The two middle sections of my digipak were taken from stills off my music video.

These images were also edited using photostudio. The "magic wand" tall was used to delete all the unwanted background imagery, as well as facial features. The background image was then placed behind the image and the moon was moved into a higher position on one of the sections and removed completely on the other section

Shooting Schedule

I have had to make changes from my animatic due to a number of factors. The first major change i had to make was to replace one of the scenes where the artist was singing on stage, the reason for changing this scene was there was limited access to a stage which was made significantly more difficult with trying to organize the artist to be available on the dates and for him to have transport to and from the venue. Several scenes were added to fill the gap in which the afore-mentioned scene had taken up. The next clip I had to change was a scene where the artist is laying in bed and lighting was used to try and create the effect of the sun rising and the sun setting, originally this clip was supposed to have a clock in the shot which would be fast-forwarded to create the illusion of time passing. The reason for not proceeding with this, is that i did not possess the knowledge on how to fast forward the clock without it looking modified. The main reason i found this difficult was becuase the light was affecting the shadow on and around the clock.
